“Can they really make an anime out of this?
The novel version was written without much thought about certain details, such as the arrangement of the students.
That’s what I thought, but it seems they did a good job. Some parts of the anime are exactly like the novel version, whereas some were completely changed.
Anyway, the staff members who loves Gintama and Ginpachi Sensei, came together to make an interesting anime. I did my best to make the novel as good as it could be.
Please watch it! Please don’t fight!“

“I have vivid memories of reading Gintama when it was first serialized. I think the chapter cover was colored too. I felt freshness in the images, and when I read it, it was so interesting that I couldn’t stop.
I was very glad to be involved in Ginpachi Sensei 10 years later, and I was very motivated to work on it. Furthermore, I got the chance to have several Gintama staff members to join the project, including Takeuchi-san, who serves as the supervising character designer.
It was hard to find the right balance between Gintama’s image and the enjoyment of Gintama itself without ruining it, so it was a rather difficult work.
I hope all fans will collectively be able to enjoy it.“

“It’s been about a year and seven months since the announcement of the anime adaptation. A lot happened within that time. There even where times where I wondered if it will ever be completed.
However, it looks like we will be able to deliver it to everyone without any problem (probably).
The peculiar, eccentric students are running amok in the small space known as Class 3-Z. Of course, old favorites so-and-so and so-and-so will also be appearing.
We’ve made it so that it will reach out to everyone that loves Gintama, so please watch it. And if possible, please don’t fight!“
