At the Gintama Multiverse Festival which took place today on August 16, a 4th Gintama movie was decided and announced, which will be remaking the episodes from the Yoshiwara in Flames arc in the anime! The announcement came with a newly drawn key visual by Sorachi, and a trailer that shows new scenes and brand new cameos, all in the art style from the 3rd movie, Gintama: THE FINAL. The movie is also the first in the franchise that will be displayed in CinemaScope screen size, at a ratio of 2.35.1


To celebrate the announcement, as well as the incoming spin-off Ginpachi Sensei anime and Sugita’s nutsack, a new letter by Sorachi was delivered at the event:

The movie is scheduled to release in Japanese theaters in 2026. More details will be revealed over the time
