The movie re-edit version of the Courtesan Of a Nation arc’s anime adaptation, Gintama On Theater 2D: Ikkoku Keisei-hen, was released yesterday in Japanese theaters. At the end of the movie, in the traditional bonus segment, a new movie re-edit announcement for the Kintama arc was made as part of the Gintama on Theater project. This makes it the third arc to receive the treatment since the start of the 20th anniversary, after the Thorny arc and the newly released Courtesan Of a Nation arc, and the 5th overall in the history of the series.
No key visual has been revealed yet, but further information might be released over the time. The movie is set to be released in the fall of 2024.
