The illustrations of the top 20 characters in the Gintama All Character Popularity Poll that took place between December 2023 and January 2024 have been revealed. The characters, who were revealed on August 27 through the official 20th anniversary Twitter account, have newly been drawn by Sorachi in the form of key visuals which will be displayed at the upcoming Gintama 20th Anniversary exhibition in December 2024. Each illustration references each character’s appearance into the story, which are depicted in the background. The official ranking for the poll will be revealed on the Shonen Jump Youtube channel on November 11, 2024.
The upcoming exhibition will also have a newly recorded audio guide with 9 characters, which will be available for purchase at the event. Featured characters are Gintoki (Tomokazu Sugita), Shinpachi (Daisuke Sakaguchi), Kagura (Rie Kugimiya), Hijikata (Kazuya Nakai), Sougo (Kenichi Suzumura), Kondo (Susumu Chiba), and Katsura (Akira Ishida). Ginpachi Sakata (Tomokazu Sugita) and Takasugi (Takehito Koyasu) from Gintama: 3nen Zgumi Ginpachi Sensei will also appear in the audio book.
