Morning homeroom in class 3Z, Gintama High School. The 3Z students are told by Ginpachi-sensei to score 80 or above in one subject, for the post-holiday test. But, aren’t the grades of class 3Z more average than that of a young actor? After a silly emergency, the test begins! Results?

A word from Ginpachi: “Shut up, it’s early in the morning. Are you a middle schooler, you bastard?”

Lesson 2: “Scaring People Is One Technique”

It’s night at the school. Shinpachi came to pick up something he had forgotten. This is scary. Is the last boss going to show up? The atmosphere gave that feeling. Soon after, Ginpachi came to pick up the Jump magazine he left in the staff room, and Kagura also came to pick up the sukonbu she left in the art room. While walking around the school building at night, they bump into one of the Seven Wonders of Gintama High School who was weeping in the staff room, and that’s where Japanese history teacher, Hattori Zenzou, is seen inserting a suppository with a teary-eyed face.

A word from Ginpachi: “Oi, oi, Shinpachi. You’re having impure sexual activities in school at night? Ozaki Yutaka* is crying.”

*Late Japanese musician, popular among the younger audience for his songs themed around love, angst, rebellion, and the meaning of life.

Lessons 3: “If You Are Going To Play Baseball, It Shouldn’t Be Like This.”

Eventually, the 3Zs split between the Hokkaido and Okinawa factions, they get into a dispute, and begin to entertain Ginpachi in the school cafeteria… What will be the final destination of the school trip?

When Ginpachi asks if there’s anything to be concerned about, Otae, who plays the role of the mother, replies that Shinpachi is a tsukkomi, that recently his tsukkomi has gotten a bit monotonous, and that she’s advised him to blend in a bit of tatoetsukkomi* and noritsukkomi**… Will he be able to go around and visit all homes at this rate?!

A word from Ginpachi: “What are you worried about? Rather than looking at it from a mother’s point of view, look it at it from the point of view of a comedian’s manager.”

Gintama: Year 3 Class Z Is Back, Ginpachi Sensei Returns, More Returns: Heartless & Hardcore, Takasugi-kun

Prologue

Due to numerous violations of the school regulations, The Takasugi Gang are sentenced to a one month in-school voluntary work. Takasugi and his group can’t keep weeding out the grounds, the courtyard and the back of the gymnasium, so they decided to set up the Yorozuya Club, an in-school service club that receives requests for help from students in need!

A word from Ginpachi: “What do you mean… For example, you could rub my shoulders, go buy Jump for me, or level up in Dragon Quest for me.”

Lesson 1: “The Water In The Pool Has Drained Up”

Madao was the first memorable client to show up at the Yorozuya Club. He’s actually the head of the swimming club and has to clean the pool all on his own. After draining the water in it, he finds it filled with a heap of garbage. The disciplinary committee members join in and help bringing out the sunken tricycles and folding chairs to the poolside, while Takasugi uploads the scene to Instagram and TwitCasting, and for some reason he also begins to fry croquettes. The last thing to come out the pool is…?!

A word from Takasugi: “Attention, Yorozuya Club… Clean up the pool!”*

*Reference to Takasugi’s scene in Gintama Lesson 573 (Episode 322)

Lesson 2: “Amazing Literature! Let’s Go, Literary Masters!”

Yamazaki was the next to show up. He is originally a member of the Disciplinary Committee, but that day, he came to Takasugi and his gang as the head of the Literature Club to request a manuscript for the club journal. In the content written by Takasugi and co… Takasugi wrote a poem about twin brothers, Bansai wrote lyrics about a rental DVD, Nizou wrote a Dragon Quest inspired “Kasa Nizou”*, Takechi wrote a novel full of censored stuff he couldn’t risk showing, and Matako… a nude photogravure?! Can they really issue it?

A word from Takasugi: “Guys, I know three days is not enough time, but I need you to come up with a draft somehow. Alright? This is our… club journal way”.

*Probably a parody of Kasa Jizo, a Japanese folktale about a couple who got rewarded by Jizo (Bodhisattva) for their generous deeds.

Lesson 3: “It’s The Prime Minister!!”*

The prime minister, Tokugawa Shigeshige, came to give a lecture as a former student of Gintama High School. As part of the Club Activity Observation Tour, the prime minister got to experience the club, which was led by Takasugi… “It’s the Yorozuya Club!!” Takasugi  quickly assigns the prime minister with the job of a new club member and says “Go and get me some croquette bread”. The prime minister was suddenly made to go on an errand?!?

A word from the Prime Minister: “Senpai! I bought the croquette bread!”

*Title is a reference to “Shogun kayoooo!!”

Lesson 4: “The Good You Do For Others, You Do For Yourself”

On the final day of the Yorozuya Club, Matako gets once again kidnapped by the students of Tenshouin High School. Takasugi goes on his own to rescue her, and is joined by the 3Zs, team Shinra, the Three Ominous Stars group, the Dakini Business High School, and Kamui from Yato High School. What will be the outcome of this major war?!

A word from Takasugi: “Shut up…. Idiot.”

Epilogue

After getting into a brawl with another school, Takasugi and his group were told that they will not be suspended, but that the Yorozuya Club will be extended for another month. What are the final words exchanged between Takasugi and Ginpachi?

A word from Takasugi: “Thank you, sensei.”
