October 10th is Gintoki day! As it’s also the 4th anniversary of the Gintama Youtube channel, the staff held a stream on the channel to celebrate, which ended with brand new information on the upcoming new anime Gintama: 3nen Zgumi Ginpachi Sensei.
The new anime which has been branded as a “Gintama multiverse” anime, will be distributed by long time affiliates TV Tokyo, and will begin its broadcast starting on October 2025. To accompany the announcement, a brand new key visual featuring Sakata Ginpachi and Sakata Gintoki was released, highlighting the crossover between the universe. Other information released with the key visual were, a new comical promotional video with Ginpachi, Shinpachi and Kagura speaking in the background, messages from the staff and cast about the upcoming adaptation, a character information for Ginpachi (the ones for the other characters shall be updated with time), and a new website for the anime.
Lastly, the 9th new volume of the original Ginpachi Sensei novel was also announced, with a release set for December 4th, 2024, and which makes it the first novel release in six years.
