Gintama 20th Anniversary Exhibition: new key visual, exhibition info, and polls results

A new key visual for the upcoming Gintama 20th Anniversary Exhibition – Hatachi no Gathering was released by the 20th Anniversary account on Twitter today. The key visual is a recreation of the iconic page from Lesson 1 where Gintoki was first shown. The Gintama 20th Anniversary Exhibition – Hatachi no Gathering is an event held to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Gintama series. The exhibition will recreate atmosphere of Gintama by incorporating elements of the series at the event, which include Sorachi’s own handwritten manuscripts and original photo spots that reference the series. The event will be held in Tokyo, starting December 14, 2024 (Sat) to January 17, 2025 (Fri) at the Sunshine City World Import Mart Building, Exhibition Hall A in Ikebukuro.

A website for the upcoming event has now been officially opened to the public.

20TH ANNIVERSARY POLLS

In between the announcement of the exhibition at Jump Festa ’24, a series of polls by the Gintama Exhibition Production Committee were held.

Gintama 20th Anniversary All Character Popularity Poll

The first of the polls, and the principal one, was the Gintama 20th Anniversary All Character Popularity Poll. The poll which was held between December 17, 2023 and January 31, 2024, recorded a total of 1,000,000 votes. The top 20 characters were revealed through the official 20th Anniversary account, without the ranking. The characters who made the top 20 will be receiving newly drawn illustrations by Sorachi, which will be revealed on October 7, 2024 (Mon).

*The characters are lined up in order of appearance in the story.

The official ranking shall be revealed at a later date. Character ranked 21st and below will be revealed at the exhibition.

This voting project, separate from the All Character Popularity Poll, was held to decide the contents of the 20th Anniversary Exhibition, based on the voting from the fans.
