Sakata Ginpachi (CV: Tomokazu Sugita)

Homeroom teacher of Class Z. He wears a shabby white coat and sandals, and has dead fish eyes.

Personality and appearance are unsightly for a high school teacher, but for some reason, he’s always admired by the students.

He has a sweet tooth.

Shimura Shinpachi (CV: Daisuke Sakaguchi)

One of the students in Class 3-Z.

Although he keeps a low profile, he’s in charge of playing the tsukkomi, and mercilessly pointing out the mistakes/jokes of the boke, be them cliché or surreal.

Kagura (CV: Rie Kugimiya)

A foreign Class 3-Z student. She’s got a big appetite and always carries a rice cooker with her. She likes to eat sukonbu.

Tae Shimura (CV: Yukino Satsuki)

One of Class 3-Z’s students. She’s Shinpachi’s older sister, but is enrolled in the same class. She’s a graceful girl, albeit with a violent personality. She’s very strict with her gorilla classmate that stalks her around.

Kondo Isao (CV: Susumu Chiba)

A Class 3-Z student. He’s the head of the disciplinary committee with members Hijikata and Okita on his side, but his intense love for Tae has turned him into a stalker. He’s practically a gorilla.

Hijikata Toshiro (CV: Kazuya Nakai)

A Class 3-Z student. He’s the sharp-eyed vice-chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, and an extreme mayonnaise lover who often sucks it directly from the bottle.

Okita Sougo (CV: Kenichi Suzumura)

A Class 3-Z student, and a sadistic member of the Disciplinary Committee. He schemes to bring down Hijikata whenever the chance rises. He often naps during classes.

Yamazaki Sagaru (CV: Tetsuharu Ohta)

A Class 3-Z student and member of the Disciplinary Committee. Unlike the other stronger members, he’s a quiet and discreet guy. He’s his doing his best as an introvert to live his youth to the fullest.

Sarutobi Ayame (CV: Yu Kobayashi)

A Class 3-Z student also nicknamed Sacchan. She’s got a crush on Ginpachi Sensei, and pursues him vehemently, but he pays no attention to her.

Katsura Kotaro (CV: Akira Ishida)

A Class 3-Z student, and class rep. Whenever something happens, he quickly resorts to taking legal action. He keeps a mysterious creature named Elizabeth as his pet.

A Class 3-Z student. A mysterious creature uses placards to communicate, and that usually hangs with Katsura. He is 180cm tall (5’11 ft) and weighs 123kg (271 pounds).

Takasugi Shinsuke (CV: Takehito Koyasu)

A Class 3-Z student, said to be the most fearsome, most vicious and strongest delinquent since the foundation of Gintama High School. He’s the leader of the Takasugi faction.

Kamui (CV: Satoshi Hino)

A student from Yato Technical High School, and Kagura’s real brother. He’s a strong fighter, and has a history with Takasugi. He’s the type to save his favorite things for last.

Hasegawa Taizou (CV: Fumihiko Tachiki)

A Class 3-Z student. Kagura calls him a “Maru de Dame no Ossan” (useless old man), or “Madao” for short. He’s always looking for part-time jobs because he’s always short on money.

Yagyu Kyubei (CV: Fumiko Orikasa)

A Class 3-Z student. She/they refers to themselves using the male pronoun “boku”, and is a super celebrity. She’s good friends with Otae.

Ayumu Tojo (CV: Koji Yusa)

A Class 3-Z student. He refers to Kyubei with “Waka” (Young lord) and stalks Kyubei around, though the latter doesn’t pay him much attention. He’s often lotioned up.

Catherine (CV: Yu Sugimoto)

A Class 3-Z student. She often battles Kagura over side dishes for lunch. She’s not good in the English language.

Tama (CV: Minami Omi)

A Class 3-Z student. She’s a robot and thus, is capable of detaching her head. And due to the same reasons, she has minimal emotional ups and downs.

Kawakami Bansai (CV: Takumi Yamazaki)

A Gintama High School student, and a member of Takasugi’s deliquent group. He calls Takasugi “Shinsuke” and invites him to join his band.

Henpeita Takechi (CV: Hirotaka Shimazawa a.k.a. Chafurin)

A Gintama High School student, and member of Takasugi’s delinquent group. He’s got a 7/3 haircut, and is a pervert.

Kijima Matako (CV: Risa Hayamizu)

A Gintama High School student, and member of Takasugi’s delinquent group. She calls Takasugi “Shinsuke-sama” and is deeply loyal to him. She’s the group tsukkomi (straightman).

Okada Nizou (CV: Yutaka Aoyama)

A Gintama High School student and member of Takasugi’s delinquent group. He calls Takasugi “Shin-chan” and can’t resist korokke pan (croquette sandwiches).

A Yato Technical School student. He’s always working alongside Kamui

Principal Hata (CV: Koichi Sakaguchi)

Principal of Gintama High School. He has an antenna on his forehead and loves to show off.

Vice Principal (Grandpa) (CV: Toshitaka Hirano)

Vice principal of Gintama High School, who has an antenna on his head like principal Hata. He’s sometimes hostile towards the principal.

Otose (CV: Kujira)

Chairman at Gintama High School. She usually stays out of the spotlight.

Matsudaira Katakuriko (CV: Norio Wakamoto)

Gym teacher at Gintama High School. He loves cabaret clubs.

Hattori Zenzou (CV: Toshiyuki Morikawa)

Japanese teacher at Gintama High School. Suffers from hemorrhoids.

Hiraga Gengai (CV: Bin Shimada)

Science teacher at Gintama High School. He’s always conducting weird experiments.

Sakamoto Tatsuma (CV: Miki Shinichiro)

Mathematics teacher at Gintama High School. His sole notable trait is his loud voice.

Tsukuyo (CV: Yuko Kaida)

Health & Physical Education teacher at Gintama High School. She transferred over from Yoshiwara Commercial High School.

Sadaharu (CV: Mikako Takahashi)

A dog that has taken up residence at GIntama High School. He’s attached to Kagura.
