3nen Zgumi Ginpachi Sensei will release on Oct. 6, 2025! New OP & ED info, and trailer

AUGUST 16, 2025

At the Gintama Multiverse Festival, brand new info on the upcoming 3nen Zgumi Ginpachi Sensei spin-off anime was delivered to the audience. The anime project, which was announced at the Gintama Ato no Matsuri 2023 is fast approaching, and a brand new key visual, a new trailer, as well as the artists who will be singing the opening and ending theme songs of the anime, have been revealed.

The key visual was released with the tagline “Gintama style youth is here” which was first included in the first key visual revealed in October 2024, except this time, the newly drawn visual includes Ginpachi Sakata as well as all of class 3-Z.

The opening of the anime titled “Sakura Kaze” will be performed by Japanese solo artist Botchi Boromaru, and the ending theme “Underclass HERO” will be performed by Japanese band LONGMAN. Both music acts shared their enthusiasm regarding their upcoming collaboration with a globally loved franchise such as Gintama.

“When I received the offer to work on Gintama, it brought back memories of my lonely student days when I was obsessed with Gintama. It was comical, endlessly entertaining, yet full of conviction that guided my life. I vividly remember thinking, when I first read Gintama, that it was *my* manga. I wanted to become an adult like Gin-san, and back then, I was pretty much Shinpachi. Also, I was totally in love with Kagura-chan. I learned about music from the cool and rockin’ theme songs, learned about writing from Sorachi-sensei’s Q&A corner, and learned about love from a gorilla. After living through such a youth, I successfully became an adult like Elizabeth. I’m glad about that. I poured all those feelings into the song, so please give it a listen!!!”

“I am honored to be performing the ending theme “Underclass HERO” for the new series “Gintama: 3nen Zgumi Ginpachi Sensei. It is truly a privilege to be involved with the spin-off of Gintama, a series that continues to be beloved worldwide.

The appeal of this work lies in its unique worldview—one that is utterly ridiculous yet somehow deeply touching.
The ending theme song I envisioned was a “slightly bittersweet after-school” atmosphere. The silence of the classroom as the sun sets, the afterglow of the days spent fooling around, and the small step towards tomorrow. Those days weren’t just fun ones; there were also times filled with worries and standstills. Perhaps it’s precisely because we know those school days can never return, which is why we cherish them all the more. While envisioning the figure of Mr. Ginpachi—endlessly casual and seemingly unreliable, yet actually warmer than anybody else—I aimed for a sound that was melancholic, yet carried a glimmer of hope.

‘We will go anywhere’

May these words become the hope that will continue to connect that classroom to the future. I hope “Underclass HERO” rings softly in your hearts like the after-school bell.”

The Ginpachi Sensei anime will finally be airing on October 6, which is just 4 days ahead of Gintoki’s birthday. To further commemorate the release of the anime, a new Ginpachi novel is also going to be released 3 days prior.
